Маса смуги прямокутного перетину М смуги визначається за формулою:
М смуги = L · yуд
де L – довжина смуги; yуд – теоретична маса 1 м смуги, обчислена за її номінальним розмірами:
yуд = p · a2 · b
де a2 - товщина смуги; p - щільність матеріалу, b - ширина смуги.
При щільності сталі p = 7850 кг/м³:
yуд = 0,007850 · a2· b (кг/м)
де a2 - сторона квадрата в мм., b - ширина смуги.
